Hoxworth Blood Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to perform therapeutic apheresis procedures including peripheral blood stem cell collections and other specialized procedures on patients within our community.
Will be responsible for monitoring patients throughout treatment and participate in research protocols (involves both adult and pediatric patients)
Travel between hospitals within our community to perform procedures and the schedule may include some weekends, evenings and on-call duty
This individual will also need a positive attitude, excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to develop good customer-service relationships.
Exposure to bio-hazardous products, chemicals and body fluids; may be exposed to unpleasant odors and adverse weather; may have to ambulate donor in cases of adverse reaction.
Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program, diploma or degree
Possess a current OH and KY RN license
Experience in intensive care, emergency or dialysis nursing, or intravenous therapy
Training or experience as an Apheresis Nurse is desirable.
The desired candidate will have experience in critical care or emergency nursing, and has the ability to obtain licenses through reciprocity to OH, KY, and/or IN is required.
