Provides professional nursing leadership and administrative direction in the Ann Arbor Outpatient Dialysis Program. Participates as a member of leadership teams to provide and continually improve health care services and to support the mission and goals of Michigan Dialysis Services, LLC and the Health System.
In collaboration with the Clinical Nursing Director, will oversee facility’s In-center and Home Therapies Programs encompassing the following: Recruit, hire, manage, supervise and coordinate all staff for in-center, home hemodialysis and home hemodialysis. Plan, assign and review the work of nursing and support staff. Counsel, develop and evaluate the performance of all clinical and ancillary staff. Provide leadership for the development, implementation and evaluation of standards of nursing practice and for interdisciplinary clinical guidelines, using best evidence. In collaboration with other members of the leadership teams, identify and plan for staffing consistent with needs of the patient population and budgetary requirements and appropriate to the scopes of a variety of roles. Participate in and coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of interdisciplinary patient care activities and programs. Work collaboratively with the Medical Director and administrative manager to identify and resolve unit operational problems and process improvements. Plan, coordinate and evaluate LEAN initiatives and other quality improvement activities. Facilitate education of nursing leadership students. Evaluate and manage clinical equipment and recommend necessary expenditures. Assure compliance with affirmative action, regulatory, legal, patient care and safety programs. Provides written documentation of all disciplinary conferences in accordance with the established personnel policies and confers with HR regarding the nature of the disciplinary decisions. Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) Ensures Clinical Quality policies and procedures are communicated to and implemented by the facility staff. Develops facility specific action plans in order to achieve quality standards.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan. Required Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing OR Master's degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of recent (within the last 5 years) RN dialysis experience
Minimum 5 years RN experience
Two or more years of progressively responsible nursing experience, including charge nurse, leading teams, RRT.
Demonstrated ability to promote professional working relationships with outstanding communication skills and demonstrated advanced leadership skills.
Demonstrated team building, conflict resolution, decision-making and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated strong understanding of regulatory requirements
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
