Job Description Summary
In a lead capacity, the Sr Research Coordinator will manage the day-to-day operations for several research protocols. The incumbent will oversee existing project activities, supporting the implementation of new projects and meeting timelines involved in the data sets collection. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Sr Research Coordinator will manage data using different tools, systems and statistical software packages and submit protocol modifications and continuing reviews to the IRB as needed, perform literature review, and write reports and sections of grant proposals and manuscripts for publication. The role may also include direct patient interaction, such as enrolling patients in studies. There will also be an opportunity to participate in the design, conduct, analysis and writing of clinical research studies, along with the production of tables and figures.
This position involves serving as an interventionist on aÂ NIHÂ funded study comparing the effects of two behavioral interventions on reducing symptoms of sleep disruption in home dwelling persons with dementia. The position involves weekly one-hour in-home interventions for persons diagnosed with dementia and their family caregiver. â‹
The job will also entail administrative responsibilities that will include organizing and filing research materials, data entry and extraction, and proofreading.
Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree in education, social work, psychology, counseling, nursing or health related field with a minimum of 3-5 years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent interpersonal skills with sensitivity to working with older adults with cognitive impairment and family caregivers in the home environment. Prior experience in working with diverse populations is essential. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion pertaining to the work environment. Strong oral and written communication skills required. The successful candidate will possess initiative, sound judgment, and decision-making skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines is essential. Strong PC skills in MS office and related databases. Prior RedCap experience a plus. Must own or have access to a car; valid drivers license required.
