Position performs secretarial duties for a department.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for managing front office effectively, checking-in patients, scheduling all patient appointments, answer telephones, direct calls to appropriate medical staff and other duties routinely provided by secretarial and receptionist support in a medical front office.
Provides professional customer service, generating a professional image, serving as the first point of contact.
Supports physician and medical staff by screening all telephone calls and visitors ensuring productivity by announcing scheduled patients and directing walk-in patients.
Coordinates with physician, staff, nurses, patients and other medical departments when setting up appointments over the phone or in person.
Effectively maintains all records, ensuring medical records are secure, file aphanumerically, updated an organizing needed correspondence.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, following HIPAA guidelines.
Able to use computer and learn new software programs wit hability to navigate the entity.
