The Simulation Technologist(Part time - 20 hours/week) assists with activities surrounding simulation events and is responsible for operating and maintaining Nemours Institute for Clinical Excellence’s simulation, computer and audio/visual equipment. The Simulation Technologist works closely with the Senior Simulation Education Specialist to produce high quality education activities by supporting and assisting in role playing applications, props placement, and moulage set-up to create a realistic health care environment and experience.
Operates and maintains NICE’s simulation, computer and audio-visual equipment
Assists with role playing and moulage applications
Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment needed for simulation
Engages in educational endeavors to maintain currency with simulation technology and use to facilitate learning
Assists with training faculty in the use of simulation equipment
Monitors cost-effective use of material resources
Generates utilization reports as requested
Performs educational research activities such as data collection and analysis
Operating knowledge of human patient simulators, task trainers, and audio-visual systems.
Basic understanding of computers including operating systems, hardware and desktop applications.
IT and/or medical background preferred
Associates degree required
Candidates who are currently enrolled in advanced degree programs in information technology or in the healthcare field (i.e. medical school, nursing school, or other allied health program) will be considered with written recommendation from their school’s Dean or Program Director.
BLS Instructor certification through American Heart Association required
Active NREMT-B Certification preferred
Instructor status in ACLS and PALS preferred
