Responsible for management of all billing and collections of Medicare accounts. This individual reports directly to the CBO Director. This individual must demonstrate strong commitment to excellence and take ownership of issues to facilitate effective outcomes in a timely manner. Must have extensive background in day-to-day Business Office operations, A/R systems and regulatory requirements. Ensures that established protocols for billing and collection office staff are followed. Makes recommendations for updating and enforcing departmental policies. The position interacts extensively with employees, management, and other support and professional staff. Requires the ability to work in a decision making and management capacity and deal with frequent stressful situations with resourcefulness and initiative. Supervises orientation and training of new employees, and evaluates their progress.
Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree preferred but experience can be substituted in lieu of degree. Experience in healthcare Business Office operations required. A minimum of five years Medicare hospital inpatient billing and collections experience and experience working in FISS and with multiple fiscal intermediaries required. A minimum of two years supervisory experience in a hospital Business Office setting is required as well.
