ROLE of the POSITION
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is responsible for performing the duties of an APRN within the OB/GYN department at on- or off-site locations within University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNL V) and their contracted facilities.
Primary responsibilities include daily rounding on the obstetric service including antepartum and postpartum patients, staff labor and delivery triage providing assessment and dispositions for our patients, and direct patient care in the outpatient clinical setting.
The NP will be expected to work closely with our faculty and residents as part of our growing service. The NP will be involved in the student and resident education program.
The NP will independently evaluate patients while devising and implementing a treatment plan in collaboration with the treating sub-specialist/ physician for patients receiving treatment for medical conditions. The individual monitors the care of patients receiving treatment, provides access to urgent patient care needs or referrals, and expands access to relevant sub-specialty and medical care. The individual reports to the OB/GYN Department Chair and to his/her collaborating physician.
This position requires a Master's of Science Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university and be licensed in the state of Nevada as an APRN (or ability to be licensed prior to employment) and a minimum of 3 years of OBGYN experience.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
